A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit. Job Overview The Event & Group Services Manager coordinates all requirements and details for the group and events booked by the sales department, with or without catering or banquet needs. This role works closely with Sales, Catering, F&B, and Brand departments to keep operations organized and efficient, including preparation before events, client relations, internal communication, overseeing BEO meetings, presence during events, and post-event administrative closure. The role involves clerical and administrative duties, supporting the client selling and servicing process, and ensuring client needs are communicated and executed effectively. It also includes special projects to improve processes, maximize profit, and enhance client satisfaction. Flexibility to work early, late, and weekends is required. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Manage bookings from contract signing to departure, including requirements, rooming lists, guest room pickup, cut-off dates, food & beverage planning, and A/V needs. Build and maintain rapport with clients before, during, and after events to encourage repeat business. Negotiate with clients using creative proposals to maximize revenue while fulfilling contractual obligations. Coordinate with Sales to optimize function space utilization for revenue. Finalize booking requirements, upsell, communicate with departments, and ensure accurate billing. Create floor plans for events (using Social Tables) for client approval. Initiate billing procedures, including deposits and credit applications. Conduct pre-conference meetings to confirm details. Assist with on-property group servicing as needed, ensuring client satisfaction. Coordinate brand/creative events with the Brand department. Participate in meetings with staff and clients, including planning visits and tastings. Make quick decisions balancing client needs with hotel goals. Resolve challenges during events. Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities and operational needs. Foster communication and teamwork across departments. Submit reports as directed. Provide guests and clients with a high standard of service. Follow all operational standards, policies, and procedures. Maintain flexible hours based on event needs, including working early, late, and weekends. Knowledge, Requirements and Skills Two years of hotel or related experience. Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Courteous, professional demeanor. Technical skills in business solutions, with a focus on process improvement. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, high energy, and team-oriented. Positive attitude, result-oriented, able to work under pressure. Ability to work with diverse team members. Experience with Microsoft Office, Internet, Outlook, and Delphi. Flexible work schedule based on event needs. Working Conditions/Environment May need to lift up to 50 lbs.
