Position Overview :
The Cardiac Medical Unit (6N) is a 42-bed unit specializing in Cardiac Telemetry with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. Nurses provide care to primarily cardiac patients with conditions such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and various cardiac arrhythmias. The unit also serves medical patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, GI issues, COPD, diabetes, and occasional stroke, as well as surgical patients. The team is dedicated to patient-centered care, supporting recovery and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work holidays as required and every other weekend.

Education Requirements :

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications & Licenses :

• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama or compact license (no temporary licenses accepted)
• NURSYS verification required

Experience Requirements :

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred; 18 months accepted if working under the highest level of professional license.
• At least 1 year of experience in Med Surg Telemetry specialty required.
