Job Description

Connor & Gallagher OneSource based in Lisle, IL is currently seeking a dynamic, business-minded Director of Human Resources to lead and elevate our Human Resources functions. In this pivotal role, you will shape workforce strategy, foster a strong culture, and align Human Resources initiatives with our ambitious growth plans.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll oversee internal talent management, employee engagement, organizational development, compliance, and more—partnering closely with executive leadership to build capacity and drive performance across the company. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s short- and long-term goals, including workforce planning and forecasting, as well as organizational design and change management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee engagement, performance management, conflict resolution, compensation planning, and workforce development.
  • Lead initiatives to attract, retain, and develop top talent, including employer branding, recruitment strategies, and career development planning.
  • Develop and implement internship and mentorship programs. Implement succession planning to identify and develop future leaders.
  • Foster a strong, values-based culture that supports performance, collaboration, and growth. Oversee benefits strategy and administration, including vendor management and annual renewal process.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain up-to-date HR policies and procedures.
  • Partner with department leaders to coach managers, resolve complex employee relations issues, and build leadership capabilities.
  • Design and implement programs that support employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and retention.
  • Comfortable adopting technology to streamline processes and improve employee experience.
  • Leverage HR systems and analytics to inform workforce planning and leadership decisions.
  • Manage and mentor the HR Generalist; delegate administrative tasks to enable strategic focus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administrati on, or related field
  • Human Resources certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP or SPHR) strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experie nce, with at lea st 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a professional services or insurance industry environment preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive HR initiatives in a growing organization.
  • Deep knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and ability to lead objectively through complex situations.
