The Community Service Representative position is designed to provide support resources to the Aurora Police Department and its citizens. This position utilizes trained civilians (career service) responsible for the response and investigation of non-injury and minor-injury accidents to include hit and run accidents, scene processing, evidence collection, determining fault, completing thorough investigations with a logical conclusion, and taking in-person or phone reports of non-in progress crimes. The Community Service Representative will also provide static traffic control and direction support for various functions and special events as necessary. This is NOT an ARMED position; however, the ability to de-escalate and mitigate conflict by demonstrating sound judgement and exhibiting high emotional intelligence is absolutely required. The City of Aurora and the Aurora Police Department provide guidance and these requirements and expectations through comprehensive policies and procedures.
